GeoSteering

Columbine Corporation offers both on-site and remote geosteering services.  On-site steering is performed on the rig by our trained and experienced mudloggers.  Remote geosteering is delivered from our command center by experienced geologists, all of whom have previously mudlogged.  Our staff of professionals have a resume of wells which include most basins from Ohio to Nevada, and North Dakota to Southern Texas.  There are also customized schedules that may be negotiated for night, weekend, and vacation fill-in.

WELL-SITE GEOSTEERING SERVICES INCLUDE:
Communicate and direct time critical changes to wellbore inclination
Plot and monitor gamma and/ or resistivity to calculate and anticipate dip
End of Well (EOW) geosteering report with entire well bore path, ROP, TG, GR, in zone stats, structure, tops and lithology
Pick formation tops, and distinguishing members
Discuss variation in in lithology to enhance well placement
Make available knowledge of basin drilling difficulties
Discuss known solutions for geology related drilling issues

REMOTE GEOSTEERING SERVICES INCLUDES:
24/7 two-man geosteering guidance from Columbine’s command center
Use of various geosteering software to assist in saying in-zone, and on-plan including StarSteer, SES, and ZoneVu
Monitor time critical changes to wellbore inclination and communicate with the operations geologist
24/7 geosteering communications and availability to company geologists, directional drillers, and company man
Well to be correlated after every survey and lateral correlation shall be cross checked against formation after every survey
Report to company geology team every six hours (or as requested) to include: standard data, geosteering geologist’s opinion of quality of current target, target adjustment suggestions, recommended direction changes (as necessary), and snapshot of the current interpretation.
Additional communication plan- calls to operations geologist from geosteering geologists
At least once per shift to discuss correlations
To alert possible problems such as change in gamma or resistivity, significant formation dips, changes, or faults, day or night
Geosteering End of Well (EOW) report with entire well bore path, Rate of Penetration (ROP), Total Gas (TG), Gamma Ray (GR), in Zone stats, structure, tops and lithology
